What a Night

Tonight, Jason is out of town on a business trip.
I really wanted a hug.

Tonight, I went to get my hair cut.
The stylist screwed up.  My bangs are crooked.  I'm scared of fixing them more than I have, in case I screw them up even more.  She didn't do a good job on the rest of it either, but at least it's not noticeable in a ponytail.  Thanks for wasting my money.

Tonight, I ate a bag of rice chips for dinner.
I wanted to cook; I don't know what stopped me.  I'm still hungry.

Tonight, I got frustrated about the mess.
It's everywhere.  Mostly my fault.  I haven't been motivated.

Tonight, the frustration turned into mega frustration.
So I cleaned.  I washed dishes.  I emptied the crap from the fridges.  I wiped all the random dirt and hairs and other gross stuff out of the fridges (I did that 1 1/2 months ago too…where did it come from?!).  I got the trash ready for garbage day tomorrow.  I put clean clothes away.  I cleared space on the table.  I wiped down the bathroom.  I put all the towels in the laundry bin.

Tonight, it's almost over.
There's still so much I want to do.  But it's already late.

Tonight, I'm sleeping with all my teddy bears again.  I'm hogging all the blankets, guilt-free.  I'm going to sleep in the middle of the bed.  And fall asleep to music from speakers, rather than headphones.

Home Again

I went back home to Calgary for the long weekend.  It was definitely worth the 10-12 hours on the bus/in the bus station each way.  However, I will not go far as to say that time was overly enjoyable.  Those seats are rather uncomfortable, especially when you're attempting to catch a full night's rest on them.  I arrived in Calgary with a pinched nerve in my neck, and a numb left hand.

Despite the fact that we arrived on Valentine's Day, Jason and I did not spend any time together this weekend other than on the bus, and a meal when we first arrived and another right before we left.  It was a weekend to do our own thing.

Unfortunately for Jason, that involved getting food poisoning.  Poor guy.

Jill and I went shopping.  Gah!  So much fun.  I bought a pair of flats, a pair of super comfy boots, a sweater dress, some tights, my first pair of skinny jeans, a pair of skate shoes, and a gorgeous purse.  Oh, and 2 more lip studs, a new bellybutton bar, plus foot cream and body butter from the Body Shop.

My computer decided to stop working while I was writing the above post, so I never got around to putting on my blog.  So I'll just continue it…5 days later.

Jason got me an early birthday present.  It's an electric blanket.  I'm in love with it.  So warm.  And fuzzy.  Definitely a fantastic choice on Jason's part.  He knows how cold I always am, especially around our basement.

Today I'm feeling very frustrated with the overall lack in our basement.  The lack of counter space.  The lack of adequate storage.  The lack of a real fridge.  The lack of options.  I just want to have my own space.  Where I can put in the furniture and shelving that suits my needs.  Where the counter space isn't non-existent.  Where I can do laundry any day of the week.  Where I can leave my shoes at the door.  And park a matter of steps from my front door.

The past couple of weeks I've been watching less tv, spending more time reading, and barely going on my computer.  Hence the reduced blog posts.  And blog comments on other blogs.  I'll do my best to keep posting on a regular basis, even if not as often.

It's a Sad Day…

…because my fish Jengo died.  I don't really know why, and I wasn't even expecting it.  I just thought he was going through one of his lethargic periods (of which he's had many).  As late as last night he was swimming energetically around his bowl in between periods of sleeping in his plant.

Work went really well today.  There's lots to learn about being up front, but I'm looking forward to all of it.  It seems relatively straight-forward for the most part, so it's going to be a matter of remembering the first step, and (theoretically) all the remaining steps will follow automatically.

I can't wait to go shopping in Calgary.  (Jill, please don't let me down).  I really want a new pair of flats and heels for work.  And a new purse.  And potentially a pair of work pants that's long enough to go with the heels.  I'd be super happy if I could get some (if not all) of these on sale.  *fingers crossed*

Small Hiatus

I've had some slight problems with internet (aka NONE!) since my landlords went on vacation.  So my blogging has suffered.  But I'm back now.

Jason and I went snowboarding yesterday.  It was a lot of fun.  We're hoping to go most, if not every, weekend until the end of the season.

Tomorrow I move from the back to the front of the dental clinic.  I'm excited.  It also means I'll go to working 8-5, instead of later shifts.

We're going back to Calgary next weekend.  First visit back home since I've moved up here.  I'm looking forward to it.
